About Us

 Why is it when asked to introduce myself, my mind always goes blank. Who even am I? 

To start things off, I'm Kelsey, aka Mallard 5 Mama. C.J. and I have been married for 10 years and we have 3 of the funniest little girls I've ever seen. 5 years ago, we took a huge risk and sold our newly finished home to buy this 100 year old farmhouse. 

It was absolutely crazy. Everything needed renovated. EVERYTHING. C.J. had already completely re-done our first home...but this was a MUCH bigger challenge. Could he do it?

 5 years into the renovation, I can tell you he definitely can. So far, he has gutted and rebuilt 3 rooms AND a pantry. That may not seem like a lot, but C.J. is doing everything by himself. In his free time. 

Meanwhile, I am a stay at home mom. I homeschool our girls (mostly) year-round. I also have found that I absolutely LOVE living on a farm and can't wait to have ALL the animals. So far, we have 15 chickens and recently got into bees!

We are learning everything as we go and hope to give our girls lots of know-how to take with them. Join us on our journey of building our dream house...and farm!
